About:

University workstations are expected to be compliant with the University Policies. Compliance serves both the needs of the individual and the University as a whole; keeping your personal computer secure protects it from outside intrusions, which, in turn, minimizes attacks on the University network since your machine can't be used as an entrance point to the network. Many of us want to be in compliance, but we're not sure of the steps to take to get there. Completing the steps in the following procedures will ensure that your workstation meets the requirements of the University Security Policy, and is protected against unwanted intrusions.

Procedures:

Secure a Windows XP Workstation
Secure a Macintosh (OS X) Computer
Secure a Linux (Red Hat) Computer
Secure a Server 2003 Installation/Operation
