Help

Distribute a Critical Non-Time-Sensitive System-Wide Message to all University Faculty and Staff:

  1. Draft an email message:
    • Address the message to help@gsu.edu
    • Use a subject that is appropriate to the message.
    • In the first line of the message, type SEND NEXT DAY.
    • In the second line of the message, type FACULTY/STAFF
    • Include a name and contact number in case there are questions about the content of the message (if appropriate).
  2. Send the message to the appropriate office (President, Provost, Vice President, or Director of University Relations) requesting that the message be approved, and then forwarded to the Help Center.
  3. Follow-up with a call to the Help Center (404-651-4507), to inform them that an email for immediate distribution has been sent, and to confirm that it has been received and is being processed.

  1. Draft an email message:
    • Address the message to help@gsu.edu
    • Use a subject that is appropriate to the message.

    • Include a name and contact number in case there are questions about the content of the message (if appropriate).
  2. Send the message to the Vice President for Student Services, requesting that the message be approved, and then forwarded to the Help Center.
  3. Follow-up with a call to the Help Center (404-651-4507), to inform them that an email for immediate distribution has been sent, and to confirm that it has been received and is being processed.

Distribution of All Critical Non-Time-Sensitive Messages:

After the Help Center receives and processes a Critical Non-Time-Sensitive Email message, it is scheduled for distribution to all GroupWise users, and all students, in that night's midnight mailing. If the message is received after 3:00 p.m., the message will be distributed in the next night's midnight mailing.
