Send a Message to a University Mailing List
Help

Send a Message to a University Mailing List:

  1. Create an email message for distribution. The message should:
    • be in plain text format (no special fonts or features)
    • not include attachments
    • state the category name (specified on the University Mailing List) as the first line of the message
      Example: Category: Academic Events

Note: The message will be returned to the sender if a category is not indicated. You are encouraged to choose only one category; however, if the information applies to multiple categories, you can type “general-announce” as the category name.

  2. Continue the message with the text of your announcement.
  3. Include contact information (name, email address, and phone number) in the email in case a recipient has a question regarding the message.
  4. Send the completed message to the Help Center (help@gsu.edu).

For a message to be distributed in the midnight mailing, the message must be received by 3:00 p.m. In addition, messages received prior to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon will be included in the Thursday morning weekly digest.
