out. 1) Crystal Enterprise User ID Procedure, 2) Procedure for Processing
a Request for Crystal Enterprise User IDs, 3) Statement of Accountability,
and 4) Request for Crystal Enterprise User ID. Once downloaded, follow
the Procedure for Processing a Request for Crystal Enterprise User IDs.
You will be notified by email once the request has been processed.
How do I publish a report I wrote to Crystal Enterprise Web Site?
After the report is completed, attach it to an email to CEAdmin@gsu.edu.
Include in the email the name of the folder where the report will reside.
Once we receive the report, we will test the report for problems. If problems
are found, we will send you a Crystal Enterprise Report Problem form that
will detail the issues with the report. After you fix the problems, resubmit
the report to CEAdmin again for verification that the problems have been
fixed. We will then upload the file to the Quality Assurance directory
of the folder where the report will reside. Users will now be given a
opportunity to test the report, and if all goes well, a signoff form will
be sent to the user. Once the signoff form has been completed, signed,
and faxed to us, we will move the report into the production folder.
Can I write reports using Crystal Enterprise?
No, Crystal Enterprise is a repository for reports that have been created
by developers in University Information Services. However, in the future
you will have the ability to create Ad Hoc reports in Crystal Enterprise.
If you need to have a report created, download the Crystal Enterprise
Report Request form from this site and submit it to Ceadmin in GroupWise.
I am having a problem with my login to Crystal, what should I
do?
First check to make sure you are using your Crystal User ID and password
and not your GroupWise or other User ID and password. If you continue
to have a problem, contact the Help Center and report your problem. They
will create a remedy ticket and notify us of the problem.
I have scheduled a report to run, but it keeps giving me a “failed”
status.
Click on the “Failed” status; an error message will be displayed.
If the message says, “Connection to SQL cannot be made,” or
something similar, this means one or more parts of the Enterprise server
was either 1) down, or 2) you did not log into the proper database instance,
or 3) you currently do not have the rights to log into the server. If
the message states, “More information was needed to process the
report,” then you need to make sure that a value was selected for
each parameter before you scheduled the report to run. If you still have
problems after correcting items 1) and/or 2) above, contact the Help Center.
Be sure to give them the exact error message you are receiving.

A report has disappeared from a QA folder, what happened to it?
When reports are placed in the QA folder they are there for the
users to review and submit changes to ceadmin@gsu.edu. When changes have
been received, ceadmin moves the report back into the developer's folder
to work on the report. As part of the QA process, only version of a report
will exsist. This prevents confusion about what requests have been done
and which have not, as well as multiple requests for the same issue. When
the report changes have been made and compared to the Crystal Report Problem
form (created by CEAdmin users' input ) and verified, the report will
then be moved back into the QA folder for further user review.
What does it mean when it shows a number of instances for a report?
Instances show the number of times a report has been run and
stored on the HISTORY screen. A maximum of 20 instances of a particular
report can be stored, viewed, or printed. Each instance on the history
page is unique for the day/time it was run, so you can compare the latest
run with the earliest run if you desire to do so.
How do I submit a request for a New Report or to request a change
to a report that is in production? From the Crystal Enterprise Home
page, click on Custom Reports, then select the appropriate form. Complete
the form and click the submit button and your request will be sent to
ceadmin.

bolt is yellow and appears on the third line down from the top. If you
have used the "Schedule" feature, then the lightening

What is BREPTS?
BREPTS is a copy of the production database that is refreshed each hour
at the top of each hour. During the refresh process, reports cannot be
accessed either through Crystal Enterprise or Crystal Reports. The process
starts 5 minutes before the top of each hour and ends approximately 5
minutes after the top of each hour.
