Facts

-Campus Civitan's purpose is to provide college students opportunities for personal development and better understanding of the value of community service.

-The mission of Campus Civitan is to provide a volunteer organization of college students with the opportunities to enhance your personal development, broaden career opportunities in community service and to make new and lasting friendships.

-Campus Civitan's headquarters is located in Birmingham, Alabama and provides support services to clubs in the areas of growth and expansion, leadership training, public relations, and fundraising.

-There are approximately 450 members in 17 clubs throughout the nation. These numbers continuously grows each month.

-The emphasis for Campus Civitan is toward helping people with retardation and other developmental disabilities. However, campus clubs are involved in several other community service and fund raising projects.

-Campus Civitan's major fundraising emphasis is the Civitan International Research Center (CIRC), a research and development facility dedicated to the treatment, prevention and elimination of developmental disabilities, located at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
