Rule of Law: Concepts, Measures, and Theory

A three part symposium on Latin America

Presented in the Troy Moore Library, 9th Floor GCB, Friday June 4th, 2010

GavelThis symposium on the Rule of Law is sponsored by GSU's Center for Latin American and Latino Studies, the Center for Human Rights and Democracy, and Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society, in conjunction with the Division de Estudios Juridicos of CIDE-Mexico.

It brings together political scientists and law scholars from Atlanta (GSU and Emory), Mexico (CIDE), and Denmark (U. of Aarhus) to discuss what the rule of law is, how it can be measured and compared across time and context, how it comes about, and how it helps us understand economic development, human rights, and democracy.

For information on the presenters, as well as the schedule of the symposium, please read the event flyer (PDF).  For more information, contact Professor Fernandez of the CLALS.
