Description Of Event
Jamil Mahuad is former president of Ecuador and currently a visiting fellow at Harvard's John F Kennedy School of Public Policy. He was removed from office in a coup led by indigenous protestors and mid-ranking military officers in January 2000 in the wake of an economic crisis. He is currently working on two books about the Peru-Ecuador border war of the 1990s and the premature removal of Latin American presidents in the 1990s.
