Description Of Event

This multi-media presentation compares American and indigenous documentaries about the Zapatista rebellion in Southern Mexico. It juxtaposes documentaries made by Americans with those made by the Chiapas Media Project to explore the power relationships at play in making documentaries, to call into question what "solidarity" means, and to elucidate the key concept in the Zapatista rebellion: autonomy.
