The Center for Latin American and Latino/a Studies sponsors research that creates new knowledge about Latin American and Latino/a culture in the United States. Sponsorship takes the form of grant support for individual scholars and artists and their specific projects, and to assist with initiative support of established organizations that complete multiple projects. In addition, to honor the memory of a much appreciated colleague, the Center for Latin American and Latino/a Studies offers the opportunity for research support for studies related to the Caribbean through the Mark Alleyne Memorial Award. These funds will be provided on an application and relevance basis to individuals involved in research at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Grant requests are handled by the current PAG/ISG committee: Prof. Cassandra White (Anthropology), Prof. Rudyard Alcocer (Modern & Classical Languages), Prof. Gabriel Kuperminc (Psychology), and Prof. Ryan Carlin (Political Science). Committee members are elected during the first meeting of each academic year.
