Edward A. Delgado-Romero is an associate professor and director of training in the counseling psychology doctoral program at the University of Georgia. He is the president of the National Latina/o Psychological Association (NLPA) and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Delgado-Romero's research, practice and training interests are in the culturally competent provision of psychological services to ethnic minority people in the United States, with a focus on service provision to the US Latino/a population. Dr. Delgado-Romero has published many journal articles, book chapters and presented at many international conferences regarding the provision of culturally sensitive psychological services as well as the training of culturally and linguistically competent mental health practitioners. As a licensed psychologist he supervises the work and research of doctoral students as they attempt to meet the needs of the emerging Latino/a population in the U.S. As one of the founders of NLPA, Dr. Delgado-Romero has been one of the national leaders in the issues regarding Latino/a psychology in the US.
