I am not poor.  I am not from an uneducated family. My family has been in this country for generations!  Please don’t assume my mother cleaned hotels and my father worked fields.  Please realize that poverty and being Latino are not the same thing.  My grandparents worked very hard to give my father a good life, and he raised our family to be solid citizens of this great country.  There are so many Latinos who struggle with poverty and even the broken life of migrant work, but that is not because they are Latino.  It is because they have had difficult lives like many do in all racial groups.
