The Georgia State Center For Writing & Research Website provides general information about the Center and offers many online services. We created the site to assist both the community and students unable to come to the Center during open hours. The site also allows patrons to connect to numerous online writing resources.

The Database:

The Writing Center collects data that may be useful to scholars interested in writing and tutoring related research. Students provide the center with information about their classes and projects, and tutors report on their experiences with students. This information is then entered into a database for easy access.

Students provide information on their project and their experience in the center:

- Instructor
- Class
- Assignment
- Suggestions for tutors

Tutors provide information on the session:

- Type of document
- Focus of session
- Challenges of session
- Tutoring strategies

The database can answer questions for researchers:

- How many students visit the center?
- How many students return to the center?
- Why do students come to the center?
- What do ESL students tend to wok on?
- What departments send students?
