Film and Video

Students in the Film and Video program at Georgia State learn to become critical producers and consumers of film, television, and new media.
Guided by respected scholars and award-winning mediamakers, students gain an interdisciplinary perspective on our media-saturated world. They learn

  • to make film and television programs that engage audiences and promotes a point-of-view;
  • to understand film and television in their cultural, historical, industrial, and theoretical contexts.

The general education in Film and Video is ideal for preparing students for careers in several different media, including film/video production (from independent filmmaking to video training), writing for the media, management for media businesses, and teaching.
