Dear Parent, Guardian and Student:
United Health Care will provide a Student Health Insurance program for the 2012 - 2013 year. The following groups of Georgia State University students are required to have health insurance.
- Undergraduate and Graduate International Students holding “F” or “J” visa status
- Graduate Students receiving Full-time tuition waivers
- Graduate Students receiving fellowships that fully fund their tuition
- Graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs that require proof of health insurance as determined by GSU.
Additionally, a voluntary plan is available for those students not covered under the mandatory plan who are enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
The link below provides information about the insurance program specifically designed for Georgia State
University students and their dependents. We believe
that health insurance coverage should be a primary concern of
all students. The incurring of unexpected medical expenses could
jeopardize a student's ability to continue his or her education.
We encourage all students to maintain health insurance coverage.
We hope this Plan provides those of you who are in need of insurance
a useful way to obtain coverage.
Please read the information carefully to determine whether it meets
