The
Purpose of Delta Sigma Pi
"Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community." A professional fraternity is a specialized fraternity which limits its membership to a specialized field of professional education in colleges and universities offering courses leading to recognized degrees therein. It maintains a mutually exclusive membership in that field and organizes its group life specially to promote professional competency and achievement within its field-as well as its social life. Professional Evolution Community Involvement Every year, wide-ranging activities involve members in project selection, strategic planning, budget development, promotion, and project implementation. Measurable results provide students with reality-based lessons and valuable business insights from which both student and community can benefit. Lifetime Opportunity Embracing professional and personal development as well as community involvement, Delta Sigma Pi chapters continue to influence and uplift their local communities. Developing Leaders Fraternity and Leadership Foundation programming includes numerous opportunities to learn, grow and develop personal skills. A national convention, regional conferences, career fairs, regional leadership schools and a biennial Leadership Academy for top students offer educational, motivational, career and personal development sessions. Led by respected business leaders, educators and notable alumni, these events allow business executives to interact with student leaders, future employees and customers. "Delta Sigma Pi provides opportunities for you to maximize your potential." Note: Joining a professional fraternity does not prohibit one from joining a social or service fraternity/sorority.
