Georgia Career Information Center

Georgia Career Information Center (GCIC) at Georgia State University provides Georgians with a central and usable source of career information based on comprehensive research and development. The primary mission of the center is to provide current and accurate career information to schools and agencies throughout Georgia in order to help young people and adults make informed occupational and educational choices.

The center, through its Georgia Career Information System (GCIS), provides Georgians with easy access to the most comprehensive, current, and accurate state and national occupational and educational information available in the state. GCIS contains self-assessment, exploration, and search strategies as well as a vast amount of occupational and educational information. As the state career information system, GCIS is Georgia's central source for current career information.

Each year, approximately 625,000 Georgians will access GCIS at approximately 1,250 sites. GCIS is used in Georgia's high schools, middle schools, colleges and universities, technical colleges, Employment Service and Rehabilitation Services offices, the welfare-to-work program, and incarcerated youth development centers.
