John is an IEP lecturer and the ESL testing coordinator at Georgia State. He has been teaching at Georgia State since 2001, after having received his M.A. in Applied Linguistics/ESL from Georgia State in 2000. He is a member of TESOL and AAAL, and is the webmaster and board member of Georgia TESOL. John's areas of specialization include lexicography, corpus linguistics, second language writing and vocabulary, and teacher training. He is currently in the doctoral program in Applied Linguistics/ESL at Georgia State. His first book, an ESL vocabulary textbook based on the Academic Word List (Coxhead, 2000), was recently published by Houghton Mifflin.
