Intercultural Rhetoric and Discourse Conference


Sponsored by the Georgia State University Research Foundation and the Department of Applied Linguistics/ESL, the 6th Conference on Intercultural Rhetoric and Discourse was held in Atlanta, GA on June 11 & 12, 2010. Dr. Diane Belcher and Dr. Gayle Nelson hosted plenary speakers SURESH CANAGARAJAH, ULLA CONNOR, ERIC FRIGINAL, and GUILLAUME GENTIL, as well as featured speakers PAUL KEI MATSUDA and DWIGHT ATKINSON. This conference focused on critical discourse analysis and corpus-based approaches to research on intercultural rhetoric. Attendees came from 18 states and the following countries: Albania, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Singapore, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
