Fill-in-the-Blank
A Fill-in-the-Blank exercise is one in which blanks are found within text and one sentence part is required for each blank. These exercises may involve the changing of word forms, but differ from activities found under that heading in that the words that are to be changed here are found within sentences, rather than simply as a list. Again, there is a significant amount of overlap between this and several other categories within this inventory. Those activity types that can be found elsewhere have been indicated and cross referenced accordingly.
Interestingly, the bulk of the activities that were found in creating this inventory were of the Fill-in-the-Blank variety. The cause for this is simply the abundance of this type of exercise in the texts used. The format of these activities, however, does vary greatly. Fill-in-the-Blank activities may appear in any one of the following forms:
