Getting Started

Computer Labs | Getting Started | Locations, Hours & Specs | Panther Print | Current Usage

Welcome to the P&SI Open Access Computer Labs at Georgia State University. Here's how you get started using the computers in the labs.

First - Do you have your new Student Email and Web Account?

If you do not, go to http://www.student.gsu.edu and select “Getting Started” to activate your account. You will use your GOSolar userid and PIN to obtain your new userid and seed password for the Student Email and Web system. Be sure that you always remember these.

If so, you are ready to use the P&SI Open Access Labs.

      • Start by accepting the “Computer Usage Agreement”.
      • On a PC - at the Novell login prompt type your username and your password.
      • On a Mac – at the Novell login prompt type your username with your last name initial separated by a period (ie. jdoe1.d) and your password.
      • The first time you login, you will be prompted to change your password. You have five chances to use the seed password. You will receive the prompt "Your password has expired. Do you want to change it now?" Click YES to change your password.
      • The Old password field should be left alone; it contains your seed password already. Skip down to the next step.
      • Click on the New Password field and type a new password at least 5 characters in length.
      • Click on Confirm new password: and type the new password again for confirmation.
      • Click OK to start the Login process
