A. Teaching Load second paragraph:

A reduction in the teaching load of an individual faculty member is determine d by a departmental chairman in consultation with his/her dean. A number of reasons are recognized a s justification for a reduction in teaching load. These include teaching a graduate course, a l arge section of students, a laboratory, a studio course, engaging in a research project or publi c service activities, undertaking clinical duties, curriculum development, editorial duties, intern su pervision, service as a project or program director, research professor, departmental chairman or o ther administrative duties, and compliance with accreditation standards. Faculty who se teaching load is reduced in order for them to engage in activities which may result in copyrig htable or patentable materials should consult the copyright and patent policies (Appendice s M and N).
