Muscle Groups:
-
Predominately the lower body muscles are worked, including quadriceps,
hamstrings, gluteal muscles, hip flexors, and calves
Guidelines:
-
Do not lean on handrails; maintain good posture and only use handrails
for balance

Stair climbing participants should place foot on entire pedal and push
through the heel. Avoid rising on ball of the foot or toes and move the
pedals in this fashion.

Participants should make sure shoes are tied so as not to get shoe strings
caught in the workings of the stair stepper.

Steps should be 8-12 inches apart and not too shallow or too deep
