College and university students are invited to apply for the Welch School Gallery’s internships, which offer valuable experience in the everyday workings of a university art gallery. Tasks may include coordinating specific exhibitions and assisting with exhibition receptions, assisting with publicity and marketing, updating the Gallery’s website and giving Gallery tours. GSU students will be given preferential consideration for these opportunities. Term and hours are flexible and course credit is available. GSU grad students are invited to apply for the Gallery’s annual Graduate Assistantship. Graduate Assistants will serve as the Gallery Manager. Responsibilities will include assistance with installation and de-installation, minor gallery maintenance, storage room organization, assistance with Gallery events, and coordination of exhibitions. Each year, several GSU students are eligible for work-study assignments in the Gallery office. Their tasks may include coordinating or assisting with special events, creating and distributing promotional materials, updating the Gallery website and other administrative tasks.
