Student Fees to be Pro-Rated for Graduate Students

The Office of the Provost has announced a new pro-rated system for charging fees to graduate students who take less than six credit hours of class work any given term. Currently, Georgia State University does not waive any fees for less than normal enrollment, but beginning summer semester, 2006 that will change for graduate students.

The new rules for graduate students are that for every hour taken, one-sixth of the total mandatory fee amount will be charged.  At six hours and more, the full mandatory fee charge will be levied. For example, signing up for 3 semester hours of research will require half (3/6) of the mandatory fee payment.

Rules are different for undergraduate students.

In fall semester, 2006 continuous enrollment will be also be in force in the College of Arts and Sciences graduate division along with the prorated fee system.
