Information for Prospective Students

 

The Graduate Office does not mail application materials or reviews of each department or degree. Potential applicants are invited to the departmental Worldwide Web sites linked to the College of Arts and Sciences pages for specific information and contact instructions.

 

SUMMARY OF APPLICATION STEPS

 

Each item number links to a more complete description, and all referenced forms link to the PDF copy. You can also consult or print out our Application Booklet. If you have further questions, contact the Graduate Office at (404) 651-2297. Your application will not be considered complete for processing until all required items, including official test scores, are logged into our records system.

 Remember . . . You Must Submit all the Elements Below for a Complete Application.

            

1. The completed College of Arts and Sciences Application for Graduate Study, and the Residency Information form.

2. If you cannot or do not pay online, you must send in the packet the $50.00 application fee by check drawn in U.S. dollars or a similar financial instrument.

3. Two official copies of transcripts from each college or university attended if the applicant is applying to Georgia State for the first time (Applicants who previously have attended Georgia State must submit one transcript from each institution attended before Georgia State and two transcripts from each institution attended after Georgia State).

4. Official GRE scores (or MAT scores, when required -- see Materials Required chart).

5. All other required materials listed on the Materials Required chart. List of References and Recommendation Waiver forms are available here. Letters of recommendation forms must be obtained, from the application menu page, from the departments that require them,  or online with the application.

For international applicants only -- TOEFL or GSTEP scores and the Georgia State University Financial Affidavit for Graduate Applicants form, with financial documents attached, should be submitted along with the application packet.
