The Gerontology Institute director, the director of graduate studies, and the student affairs coordinator play key roles in student advisement. The student affairs coordinator is available to help students understand the expectations and requirements of their graduate programs and to assist in overall program planning and course selection. Although official approval of a course of study is not required, it is strongly recommended that students discuss their registration plans with the student affairs coordinator or the director of graduate studies. Students should contact the student affairs coordinator whenever questions arise concerning the program. The institute director and the director of graduate studies are available to guide students in developing professional goals and directions, but students are encouraged to consult widely with gerontology faculty for advice and to become acquainted with their interests and research.
