2007 Scholarly and Practical Insights into the Findings and Challenges of Assisted Living Research. This workshop, sponsored by the Assisted Living Interest Group, benefited seasoned and new researchers, practitioners, and policymakers who are interested in contributing to, learning about, or applying Assisted Living research. Grandparenting in Africa: Kenyan Case Studies One phenomenon of global aging is the rapid increase in the number of grandparents raising grandchildren in the absence of parents, due to migrant labor, urbanization, and the continuing HIV / AIDS pandemic. Relationships between Care Staff and Residents’ Family Members in Assisted Living Facilities: Exploring Work-Related Experiences and Outcomes. Assisted Living Facilities vs. Nursing Homes and Home Health: Care Workers Motivations for Employment. Worker turnover and shortages plague long term care. The Job Satisfaction Color Line: A Study of Assisted Living Facilities. Data collected from 370 staff and 45 assisted living facilities across Georgia examines predictors of job satisfaction.
