Scholarships and Awards

The Gerontology Institute awards several scholarships to deserving students in the spring of every academic year. Students will receive correspondence via email on the application process and deadlines for these scholarships. If you have questions, please email us at gerontology@gsu.edu

Anne M. Eaton Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was created in honor of Anne Eaton, an alumna of the first class of gerontology graduates in 1977. It is awarded annually to an outstanding graduate student. Preference is given to students age 40 or older.

Fulton County Gerontology Scholarship
The Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly Authority of Fulton County funds four scholarships annually to outstanding entering or continuing graduate students.

Gerontology Alumni Scholarships
These endowed scholarships are made possible by the continuing endeavors of the Gerontology Alumni Club. Currently two scholarships are available for entering graduate students.

Allen and Eleanor Hollingsworth Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is given in memory of Allen and Eleanor Hollingsworth by their family. It is awarded to an outstanding entering or first-year Master's degree student studying gerontology.

Carol Rowe Jones and Waymon Jones Scholarship
Established by Carol Rowe Jones, a recent alumna of the gerontology program, and her husband, Waymon Jones, this new endowed scholarship will be awarded annually to an outstanding gerontology student. Preference will be given to students under-represented in the University System of Georgia.

Harold V. and Anna Marie Little Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is given in honor of Harold V. Little and in memory of Anna Marie Little by their family. It is awarded to an outstanding entering or first-year Master's degree student studying gerontology.

Charles and Catherine B. Rice Scholarship
Established in honor of Charles and Catherine B. Rice, this endowed scholarship is awarded to an outstanding entering or first-year Master's degree student studying gerontology.
