Interdisciplinary Minor
Undergraduate students may pursue an Interdisciplinary Minor in Gerontology along with their major field of study. The minor, coordinated through the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program, is available to any student in the university. It consists of 15 semester-hours of course work and provides an introduction to individual and social processes of aging and policy issues posed by an aging population.

Students should be aware that the following restrictions apply:
1. The student must have a Georgia State University cumulative grade point average or a projected grade point average of 2.0;
2. No more than 6 hours may be taken in any one department or school and courses cannot be from the major area; and
3. At least fifty percent of the minor must be completed after the semester in which the minor plan has been approved by the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies Advisory Council.
Application to the Minor in Gerontology
Students should contact the Office of Academic Assistance, College of Arts and Sciences, for information about the application procedure for an interdisciplinary minor. In addition, they must submit the Minor in Gerontology Supplemental Information form to the Gerontology Institute. This form is available from the Gerontology Institute and on this website.
