At present Dr. Kemp is a co-investigator on two projects funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). The second project, the "Social and Economic Dimensions of an Aging Population II" (http://socserv.mcmaster.ca/sedap/) investigates the social and economic implications of an aging population and involves a multi-disciplinary research team. Within this project Dr. Kemp is investigating the implications for family life and for long-term care.
Dr. Kemp recently completed two additional SSHRC-funded studies. One examined the experiences of older married couples in assisted living facilities from couples' and family members' perspectives. The second, "Workforce Aging in the New Economy" (http://www.wane.ca/) was designed to study the information technology sector in Australia, Canada, the European Union and the United States.
