King, Hicks Visit Kenyatta Partners
March, 2004
Gerontology Institute faculty member, Sharon King, and GA State University Assistant Provost for International Programs, John Hicks, traveled to Nairobi, Kenya in March for meetings with the Institute's partner institution, Kenyatta University, and other organizations who are assisting with the development of the Institute's $6.8 million grant proposal to the U.S. Administration on International Development (USAID). GSU and its Kenyan partner organizations propose to launch a 5-year intervention project to support HIV/AIDS orphans in Kenya through support to grandparents and older guardians. The staff of GSU's own National Center on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren will play a major role in the design of the intervention.
