Alumni play a vital role in the Gerontology Institute's activities by participating in research projects, classroom lectures, clinical supervision, and alumni club endeavors. The Gerontology Alumni Club was chartered in 1987 as an affiliate club of the Georgia State University Alumni Association, Inc.

The club encourages support of the Institute, promotes interest and fellowship among graduates, and provides opportunities for continuing professional development. Others who have an interest in the field of aging or work in the aging network are invited to participate in the club.
