We recognize that health is more than an absence of disease and promote striving for optimal health. Since health is multidimensional the office covers a range of topics and is eager to collaborate with others to support healthy lifestyles. T he health educator is also available to assist you in designing and presenting a variety of programs to meet your programming needs. Topical areas include: Alcohol (AlcoholEdu), Sexual Assault (Sex Signals), Relationships, Breast Cancer, and more.

Peer Health Educator Workshops

Workshops are available for Georgia State University students, faculty, and staff. All others wishing to request a workshop must call 404-651-3122. Workshops are led by trained Peer Health Educators and typically last between forty-five minutes to one hour. A minimum of ten people is required for all workshops. Requesting a workshop does NOT guarantee availability. Requests must be made two weeks prior to ensure time to coordinate.

Presentations

The Health Educator, Tammy Woodring, is available to present on a variety of health topics. Additionally, the Health Educator is able to assist in finding community resources and/or experts on various topics. Those wishing to request a presentation for GSU students, faculty, and staff should call 404-651-3122 or email Tammy at twoodring@gsu.edu.

Campaigns

Student Health Promotion and Education will continuously encourage students, faculty, and staff to make healthier decisions throughout the year. Campaigns such as HIV Testing and the Great American Smokeout send a variety of health messages to the campus community as a whole.
