Ph.D. Candidate Casey Cater Participating in Harvard Center for History & Economics Workshop

Congratulations to Ph.D. Candidate, Casey Cater, who was accepted to participate at Harvard University in their Energy History Project/Harvard Center for History and Economics workshop titled “Units, Ideas, and Images in the History of Energy.”

Casey’s participation will be funded by the Harvard University Center for the Environment to discuss his paper, titled "Regenerating Mastery: Race and Depictions of Electrical Power in the Early-Twentieth Century American South." This prestigious event will be held at Harvard University from November 17 to November 18, 2011.

This workshop is part of a series of ongoing events on the global and comparative history of energy for the Energy History Project, with support from the Harvard University Center for the Environment. The keynote speaker includes Paul Warde of the University of East Anglia. Past participants include David Blackbourn, Chris Jones, Harriet Ritvo, and Richard White.
