Heritage Preservation director and students receive Preservation Achievement Awards

On May 5, 2009, The Georgia Historic Preservation Division recognized Richard Laub, Director of the Heritage Preservation Program (HPP), as well as ten HPP graduate students for their contributions to historic preservation with Preservation Achievement Awards.  Laub was honored for his leadership of the graduate program and his work with students in historic preservation.  The students were awarded for their work developing the successful nomination to the National Register of the Collier Heights neighborhood, the first African-American suburb in the United States to achieve National Register status.
