Dr. Robert Sattelmeyer
Dr. Robert Sattelmeyer, Regents Professor of English, directs the Honors Program. His scholarly field is 19th-century American literature, especially Thoreau, Emerson and Transcendentalism. His most recent project has been co-editing a three-volume encyclopedia of American History through Literature, (Scribners, 2006). Dr. Sattelmeyer is also active in promoting study abroad and student exchanges, and coordinates international programs for the College of Arts & Sciences.

Ms. April Lawhorn
April Lawhorn is the Honors Academic Specialist of the Honors Program. She acts as the Program advisor, interviews new students, coordinates the Honors Council meetings as well as the yearly College of Arts and Sciences Honors Day. April is also responsible for coordinating the Honors Freshman Learning Community. She can assist students in solving academic, procedural and policy problems. April comes to this position with a counseling, academic advising and student personnel development background.

Ms. Shundra Presti
Shundra Presti is the Administrative Coordinator of the Honors Program. She manages the Honors program budget and daily operations of the office. She can assist students with program requirements, general Honors Program information and frequently used forms. Shundra has worked at the university for two years as an administrative assistant and joined the Honors Program in April, 2005.

Honors Faculty Affiliates
Honors affiliates are distinguished members of the College of Arts and Sciences faculty who serve on the Honors Executive Committee and teach a portion of their courses for the Honors Program. They are appointed to two-year terms.
Dr. Roberta Attansio (Biology). Dr. Attanasio holds her Ph.D. in Biology
from the University of Rome. She is a specialist in molecular genetics and cell
physiology.

Dr. Maria Gindhart (Art History). Dr. Gindhart earned a Ph.D. in Art
History from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a specialist in 19th and
Early 20th Century Art.

Dr. John Kantner (Anthropology). Dr. Kantner was awarded his Ph.D. from
the University of California at Santa Barbara and focuses his research on the
archeology of the Southwestern United States.

Dr. Paul Voss (English). Dr. Voss holds his Ph.D. from the University
of California at Riverside and teaches courses on Shakespeare
and on the poetry and prose of the English Renaissance and Shakespeare. His
research centers on Elizabethan England.

Honors Visiting Lecturer
Dr. Eldon Birthwirght. Dr. Birthwright was a Fulbright Fellow at the
University of Chicago and graduated from Emory University with a doctorate in
Interdisciplinary Studies. He specializes in film studies, religious studies,
cultural studies and issues of race and identity.
