DEFINITIONS |
Balance Billing: The amount charged by your dentist that is more than the plan’s allowed amount for that service.
PDP Fee: Refers to the fees that participating PDP dentists have agreed to accept as payment in full. |

Q: What is the
effective date of my dental coverage?
A: Your dental coverage is effective the first of the month following
your submission of the enrollment form.
Q: Do I have another
opportunity to enroll in dental coverage if I do not complete my benefits
election form within the first 31 days of employment?
A: Yes,
you can enroll in the MetLife dental plan during the annual open enrollment
period.
Q: Can I enroll
in the Board of Regents dental plan during open enrollment?
A: No, the Board of Regents dental plan is only offered within the first
31 days of your employment.
Q: When will I
receive my insurance card?
A: Employees typically receive their insurance cards six to eight
weeks after they submit enrollment forms.
Q: How do I find
participating dentists under the MetLife dental plan?
A: You can locate participating dentists under MetLife by viewing
their website (www.metlife.com/dental)
or by calling member services.
