Counseling & Psychological Services, College of Education Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor - School Psychology (07-017)
The Department of Counseling and Psychological Services invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in school psychology. The individual chosen for this position will have an earned doctorate in school psychology, preferably from an APA or other nationally accredited program. Preference will be given to applicants with evidence of research and scholarly achievement, experience as a school psychologist, membership in regional and national professional associations, and eligibility for certification as a school psychologist and licensure as a psychologist. The area of expertise is open. However, the department has particular interest in strengthening our existing expertise in behavioral and academic assessment/intervention/prevention.

The successful applicant will develop a systematic line of published research, be committed to excellent teaching, and mentor student research at the post-master’s and doctoral levels. The position requires teaching courses in the school psychology core (e.g., assessment, consultation, and school-based interventions) and may involve additional courses in areas of specific applicant skill and expertise. Supervision of students in field-based practicum and internship may be a part of the duties for this position.

The department houses school psychology M.A., Ed.S. and Ph.D. programs. The doctoral program is APA accredited and NASP approved. The five program faculty members make up a vibrant group with well-established national reputations. We are committed to maintaining a collegial and supportive program environment in a research-intensive institution. The successful applicant will be expected to be an active member of the group. Applicant academic rank and expertise are flexible because we seek the best fit for our program and department. The department houses similarly collegial and rigorous programs in counseling psychology, counselor education and practice, school counseling, professional counseling, and rehabilitation counseling.
