Tenure-track Assistant Professor –
Child Development (07-020)
The Department of Early Childhood Education is seeking a tenure-track
assistant professor in child development. The department has undergraduate,
alternative initial certification and graduate programs focused on learning
to teach in high poverty, challenging schools. The successful candidate
must be able to assist in the development and evaluation of early childhood
education programs, develop and sustain relevant scholarly activity, and
engage in service to the university and the profession. Teaching responsibilities
include supervising field experiences and teaching both undergraduate
and graduate level courses.
Applicants must be eligible for the rank of assistant professor. The ideal
candidate should possess an earned doctorate in child development or related
field; knowledge of and experience in standards-based K-12 teaching; teacher
preparation; evidence of potential for research and commitment to working
in multicultural settings. Experience working in professional development
schools is highly desirable.
