Animal Facilities, (Job# 5140) Vice President for Research & College of Arts and Sciences Salary Negotiable The Director of Animal Facilities plans, directs, and oversees the work of animal care facilities for GSU; provides administrative and regulatory oversight regarding compliance with federal, state and local laws; collaborates with University researchers in their research programs; and assists with programs and facilities management and development. Must Have: DVM/VMD degree from an accredited school of veterinary medicine and ACLAM board certification; or three years training and experience in laboratory animal medicine. Preferences: Doctoral Degree in veterinary medicine or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited school or college of veterinary medicine; have at least 3 years of animal clinical experience and expertise, including experience with primates; a strong background in health programs and bio-security issues for animal care facilities; administrative experience in animal facility management; some research-related surgical skills with animals and a valid license or license eligible, to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Georgia.
