III, Office of Accounting Services, (Job# 5273) Paygrade- 15, Anticipated Hiring Range: $35,765 - $43,000 INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY This position performs professional level duties in maintaining accounting records for the University’s Agency and Continuing Education funds and the Georgia State University Research Foundation Inc. This includes reviewing, reconciling, and reporting financial information in association with this fund group and entity. Duties include preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for both Agency and Continuing Education Funds and Georgia State University Research Foundation; preparing reconciliation of general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies in these accounts or the subsidiary ledgers; maintaining detailed subsidiary listings for various accounts; preparing journal entries for both Agency and Continuing Education Funds and the Georgia State University Research Foundation; establishing new agency and continuing education fund accounts; monitoring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations; preparing monthly bank reconciliation for the Georgia State University Research Foundation; processing disbursement requests in association with the Georgia State University Research Foundation; preparing various year-end audit schedules for both state and independent auditors and performing other duties as assigned. Position may required some overtime during fiscal year end (June-August). Must have: Bachelor's degree and four years experience; or a high school diploma or GED and eight years bookkeeping or accounting experience; or a combination of training and experience. Preferences: Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting; four or more years of experience in governmental or not-for-profit organization; GASB 35 regulations; strong analytical and organizational skills; and intermediate level of knowledge in Excel, Word and PeopleSoft.
