Research Associate I, Chemistry (Job # 5297) This is an opportunity for a qualified individual to work and gain experience in the ever-growing, research Department of Chemistry at Georgia State University The successful incumbent will conduct research in protein and lipid chemistry and bioanalytical techniques; mentor and direct research activities of graduate and undergraduate students; coordinate and teach protein chemistry workshop (this will involve travel outside of the continental United States); write papers and proposals and give presentations at local and national conferences. This person will have primary responsibility in coordinating the Center for Workshop in Chemical Sciences education and evaluation program by facilitating the development and maintenance of evaluation forms and databases; analysis of evaluation data and providing summaries and progress reports. Incumbent will also assist in writing publications and grant proposals. Benefits: Must Have: PhD or MS with equivalent research experience in biochemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, or related field. Preferences: PhD in Chemistry or related field or MS and 2 years research experience in the field, effective oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, experience in MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Access databases, website and/or database design.
