Student Affairs Advisor II - Greek Life (Job# 5326)
Paygrade - 13, Anticipated Hiring Range: $31,000 - $36,000

The Student Affairs Advisor II for Greek Life is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the positive growth and development of students who affiliate with Greek letter organizations in order to provide an integral and productive co-curricular learning experience at Georgia State University. The position advises both organizational leaders and members involved in 22 Greek organizations and offers relevant programming in support of their leadership and organizational needs. The advisor ensures compliance with university policies and national guidelines for each respective council and communicates regularly with chapter advisors. Additionally, the advisor will assist with development of Greek housing in conjunction with supervisor and key university stakeholders.

Must have: Master’s degree in Education, Mass Communication or a related field and two years experience.

Preferences:
• Masters degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or related field and 1 - 2 years of professional experience in direct student service areas related to Greek and/or student life.
• Experience advising multiple organizations and program development for students (i.e. workshops, retreats, recognition programs)
• Experience developing and administering budgets and writing budget proposals
• Familiarity with compliance issues relevant to Greek organizations (i.e. hazing, alcohol, recruitment)
• Evidence of knowledge and application of student development theory
• Candidates with personal and/or professional experience in Greek organizations will be given preference
• Some evening and weekend hours are required
