Assistant Professor, The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design The Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design at Georgia State University is seeking a qualified applicant to teach undergraduate and graduate design studios and additional coursework in Methods and Materials, Furniture, Textiles and Color Theory. Ideal candidate will have proven professional practice in Interior Design and teaching experience with an emphasis in Materials, Textiles for interior environments, and FFE design and specification. Familiarity with CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation, formerly FIDER) guidelines, curricular content and the accreditation process is critical as this position will lead GSU's initial effort at CIDA accreditation. Awareness and experience with sustainable design theory and practice is also desirable. Requirements: 1) Master
of Fine Arts in Interior Design or 2) Master of Architecture (or A degree in Interior Design is required. NCIDQ certification, or ability and willingness to be so certified, or licensure as Interior Designer preferred. Ability to teach effectively at graduate and undergraduate levels and conduct significant scholarship, research and/or professional activity towards clearly defined goals.
