Intercultural Ambassadors

 


There are numerous opportunities for students to become involved in the promotion of cultural awareness and social justice initiatives as a member of the Intercultural Ambassadors. This group of students is responsible for assisting in the development of cultural programs, dialogue opportunities, and training related to cultural topics. 

Intercultural Ambassador Activities:
Volunteers assist in the promotion of IR events and programs.

Volunteers are considered associate members until participating in 3 events and are eligible to apply for leadership positions after one year of successful service.

General event activities include:

  • Assist in planning of upcoming programs
  • Setting up and breaking down for events
  • Preparing souvenirs and programs
  • Serve as hosts and hostess at events

General event publicity include:

  • Prepare easels and bulletin boards that are sponsored by the office
  • Post program arrows that are created for each event
  • Prepare and post fliers, hand-outs, and other promotional materials

Quick facts:

  • Applications are accepted continuously
  • Regina Whitlow is the contact person for the Ambassadors (rwhitlow1@student.gsu.edu)
  • Meetings are every other Friday from 1:30 - 2:30pm in the Golden Key Board Room on the 2nd floor of the Student Center

Quick facts:

  • Applications will be available by September, 2008
  • Participants must commit to the entire program
  • The program is free to all participants
  • The tentative topics for the Spring are: Gender, Race, Women's Identity and Religion. They can only be in one group at a time

Student organizations

If you are a member of a chartered student organization and would like to collaborate on a project that promotes intercultural dialogue and appreciation, please complete the Co-sponsorship form. This form will allow us to gain information on the intended project and how the project's goal supports the mission of our program.
