Intercultural Relations Peer Education Program The Intercultural Ambassador Peer Educators are a group of students who have been trained to facilitate diversity workshops for other Georgia State University students. The workshops cover a range of topics addressing issues that are relevant to all members of the Georgia State University community. This is an excellent opportunity for students to have meaningful dialogues with their peers related to cultural matters that sometimes go unspoken.
Intercultural Ambassador Peer Education Workshops Off the Wall Explore how prevalent the use of stereotypes is in daily activities and how these stereotypes influence individuals on an on-going basis. This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to begin learning how to counteract stereotypes which have been learned and accepted.

The Race of Life Discuss the concept of privilege and how privilege manifests itself within society. This workshop allows participants to develop a greater understanding of the concept of privilege, the power dynamics associated with privilege and the ways privilege effect individuals in their daily activities depending on the context of the situation.

Trigger Points Engage in a self-reflection exercise which assists participants in identifying phrases and situations that have caused them anxiety, frustration or anger. This workshop provides participants with an opportunity to explore why these trigger points invoke such personal reactions and to begin developing personal strategies for addressing some of their personal triggers.

Description: This in class workshop is designed to provide information regarding the basic concepts and terms related to sexual and gender identity. Participants will discuss what is needed in order for individuals to feel and will be made aware of the challenges faced by members of the LGBTQIQ community. Campus resources will be identified.
How to request a workshop: Requests should be submitted through the Office of Student Life and Leadership, Student Center Suite 330. All requests must be received 2 weeks prior to the requested date.
