The mission of University Auditing and Advisory Services is to support the values and mission of Georgia State University by:

• Providing comprehensive, independent, and objective appraisals of operations and department activities;
• Identifying actual or potential control weaknesses;
• Identifying non-compliance conditions;
• Developing audit recommendations;
• Evaluating business processes;
• Assessing service;
• Providing advisory services to meet the specific needs of management; and
• Conducting quarterly follow-up to assess the current status of corrective action taken.
  

The performance of all auditing activity is conducted in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and via the audit charter approved by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
