General Description
STATWARE combines a database with an application interface to deliver management information. The database (or data warehouse) contains facts and descriptive information about courses, students, facilities, teachers, budgets and any other data needed for assessment and decision making. The database is organized into a series of tables containing variables that are similar to columns in a spreadsheet. The tables can be linked together by key elements. For example, a table of courses taught may be linked to another table that has information about room capacity with a key element contained in both tables called "location." The second element of STATWARE is an interface to the information. The STATWARE interface is Web based so that it can be used by most computing devices -- on campus or away -- so long as the devices can support a browser.
