or you may reach the Crystal Enterprise homepage by finding Crystal in the GSU home page A-Z directory. For more specific information on Crystal Enterprise, please consult the Crystal Enterprise homepage above. At this website you will find useful information on how to request an id, request a custom report, FAQ's, a GSU ePortfolio user guide, etc. Answers to most user questions can be found on the Enterprise homepage.
Crystal Reports = Software used by UIS developers to design reports.
Functions of this Group:
- Our goal is to serve the university community by meeting the reporting needs with a wide range of solutions from hard copy printouts to desktop printers, to aggregate data on the web, to over 150+ reports accessible from the web.
- Report analysis to assist users in obtaining reports with the data needed to accomplish their daily tasks. Meetings are held with individual users to ensure their needs are clearly understood.
- Report Development - using a sophisticated reporting tool, developers in UIS create reports by incorporating data from some of the 1000+ tables in Banner.
- Quality Assurance - UIS follows a quality assurance process that not only seeks user input, but also relies on it to produce reports that are useful and accurate.
- One or more members of the quality assurance team reviews each report to verify that the report is delivering what the user has requested. The team also monitors, tracks, and reviews every change to each report and works as a liaison between the user and the developer to make sure that the user needs are being met.
- Crystal Enterprise Administration - Crystal Enterprise, which is the report repository, requires a Userid and password in order to access reports developed by UIS. The Crystal Administration Team creates Userids and passwords as well as maintaining the security access rights to the multitude of folders in Crystal Enterprise that contain the university reports.
- Individual and group training is provided for Crystal Enterprise users by the CEAdmin team (the Crystal Enterprise Administration team)
- CEAdmin conducts report development clinics to train designated staff to create and develop reports on their own for various functional areas if staff has approved access to the report software.
