Book Review Contribution Guidelines
Writing and Submitting Book Reviews
Reviews of all books, regardless of publication year,
are sought for this section. In order to foster diverse points of view,
InTRO will consider publishing multiple and dissenting reviews of the
same book. Books that relate specifically to the field of Instructional
Technology will be given first consideration. Books may be theoretical
or practical in nature. Reviews may be of multiple journal articles
relating to the same topic area.
If you are considering submitting to us an exhaustive
review of literature, we recommend submitting that to the Research Section
of InTRO.
Book reviews should be submitted electronically to Marshall
G. Jones(mjones2@memphhis.edu), the Book Review Editor.
Reviews should be brief, no longer than 1,250 words.
The review should be a critical analysis of the book, and not merely
a summary. While the review need not contain side headings for the following,
they should address the following issues:
The book's title, and complete reference
in APA format.
Your name
Your work/school affiliation
Your email address (if you would like
people to get in touch with you)
Summary (about a paragraph or two)
Critical analysis of the book
Strengths of the book
Weaknesses of the book
Lessons from the book to be applied
to the field
Recommendation of the book to others
(Would you or wouldn't you and why?)
